In a preseason game against Pittsburgh at Forbes Field, Mickey crunched one off sore armed Bill McDonald to right-center.  This ball did not clear the roof as some believe.  Fans reported that they heard the ball land on the back end of the roof.  Mickey Mantle, as well, told one reporter that he saw the ball bounce on the back of the roof.  The landing point would have been 450' from home plate, at a point about 85' above the playing field.  Projected distance 510-515'.
